Breaking Prophecy News; God’s Program for the Nations, Part 2 (#104)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A ‘broad spectrum’ of Iranian leaders talk of destroying Israel in the ‘near term’. According to The World News Tribune, Iran envisions the imminent destruction of Israel, perhaps in a nuclear strike by Tehran. The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs asserted that the Iranian leadership has formed a consensus of the need to destroy the Jewish state. In a report by Michael Segall and Joshua Teitelbaum, the center said that Iran, particularly supreme leader Ali Kha-men-ei, was becoming increasingly belligerent in their threats to eliminate Israel. They said, “What is striking is that these declarations calling for Israel’s destruction are being voiced by a broad spectrum of the Iranian leadership, including different senior officers in the Revolutionary Guard. Moreover, these spokesmen are not talking about a long historical process regarding Israel’s elimination, but rather a development that is to take place in the near term.”

Leon Panetta says the U.S. is Ready to Stop Iran from Creating Nuclear Weapons. According to the National Journal, U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Sunday indirectly confirmed recent remarks by the Ambassador to Israel that the U.S. is “ready from a military perspective’’ to stop Iran from making a nuclear weapon if international pressure fails. The U.S. and members of the United Nations Security Council recently met in Baghdad for talks about Iran’s suspected nuclear weapon program. Iran denies it has military intentions but has called for the destruction of Israel. Panetta said, “We have plans to be able to implement any contingency we have to in order to defend ourselves. The fundamental premise is that neither the United States or the international community is going to allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon.”

More Jews in Israel want to reclaim the Temple Mount for Judaism. According to the Jerusalem Post, as points of religious contention go, the current status of the Temple Mount is one of the most potentially explosive issues for competing faiths anywhere in the world. For Jews, it is the holiest place on Earth, from where the world was created, the site of the Binding of Isaac and the location of the First and Second Temples. For Muslims too, it has become a crucial place of worship and pilgrimage, where there stands a monumental shrine – the Dome of the Rock – and the al-Aqsa Mosque, a site of great importance in Islam. This reality, combined with the Temple Mount’s physical location at the heart of contested territory, has given it a unique geopolitical combustibility not to be found anywhere else on the planet. The Temple Institute, however, has devoted huge sums of money into constructing and producing the vessels, implements and garments required for the Temple, using the exact instructions set out in the Torah. Among the vessels constructed is a fully working golden menorah, which cost $2 million and is ready for use in the Temple. Other groups, such as the Temple Mount Faithful, led by Gershon Salomon, are clearer about their ultimate goals. This organization says unabashedly that its goals include “the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in our lifetime in accordance with the Word of God and all the Hebrew prophets” as well as “the liberation of the Temple Mount from Arab (Islamic) occupation.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “God’s Program for the Nations (Part 2)” from John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” MacArthur writes the following on this subject:

Let’s take a look at Matthew 25:31-46: Here in Matthew 25, Jesus verifies the judgment talked about in the prophecy of Joel. He says this, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world…” Now go to verse 41: “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

It’s interesting to note that all these nations gather for war and converge on Jerusalem to attack the Lord and Israel, only to find out that they have been brought to the tribunal — the judgment bar of God. The tables are turned on the nations, and they are judged.

Revelation 14:14-20 — Here in Revelation 14, the Holy Spirit confirms the judgment of the ungodly: “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” In verses 16-20, Christ reaps, and the devastation will be so great that the blood of the slaughter will be six feet deep for over 200 miles.

God’s program for the nations is that they be judged. Who is the Judge? Jesus. Now, if the nations are to be judged on the earth, and Jesus is the Judge, then Jesus must return to earth. So, the Second Coming is demanded not only by the program of the church, but also by the program of the nations.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
God wants us to be active and engaged in spiritual warfare in the last days. In light of that, please listen to what Dr. David Jeremiah writes in his book titled “I Never Thought I’d See the Day”. The title of this section is “When Christians Wouldn’t Know They Were in a War (Part 13) — Ignorance of the Spiritual Realm”.

Missionary and professor Paul Hiebert caused a stir in conservative theological circles in January 1982 when his article “The Flaw of the Excluded Middle” was published in a leading scholarly missionary journal. Hiebert recounted his confusion and lack of resources as a missionary in India when confronted with the spirit world that native Indians took for granted. Trained in Western schools, he knew nothing of what he came to call the “excluded middle” — the unseen realm of spiritual activity between heaven and earth in which the Indians believed. He explained:
The reasons for my uneasiness with the biblical and Indian world views should be clear. I had excluded the middle level of supernatural but this-worldly beings and forces from my own world view. As a scientist I had trained to deal with the empirical world in naturalistic terms. As a theologian, I was taught to answer ultimate questions in theistic terms. For me the middle zone did not really exist. Unlike Indian villagers, I had given little thought to spirits of this world, to local ancestors and ghosts, or to the souls of animals. For me, these belonged to the realm of fairies, trolls, and other mythical beings. Consequently, I had no answers to the questions they raised.

He explained that Westerners have a two-tiered worldview: Religion is the upper tier — the domain of faith, miracles, otherworldy concerns, and sacred matters. Science is the lower tier — the world of sight, experience, the natural order and secular matters. He discovered that the Indians he was trying to reach with the Gospel had a third tier — a middle tier between heaven and earth, between religion and the material world. This tier intersected heavenly activity with earthly activity; it was the tier Hiebert found missing from his own worldview. It was a biblical tier, profusely evident in Scripture, but missing in many Western missionaries’ worldview.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
