Breaking Prophecy News; God’s Promises Regarding the Second Coming (Part 3) (#86)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Israeli security head is meeting with EU officials over talks with Iran. According to the AFP, Israel’s National Security Adviser Yaa-kov A-mi-dror is holding talks with European officials ahead of the next round of talks over Iran’s disputed nuclear programme. The report said Amidror’s trip was linked to Israeli concerns that the talks between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers could ultimately end with a deal that would allow Tehran to continue enriching uranium. Israeli officials refused to comment on the report.

Nuclear experts say Fukushima crisis may become a ‘global catastrophe’. According to the Digital Journal, a nuclear watchdog official told RT News that the ongoing crisis at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan could become a “global catastrophe”. Kevin Kamps, a radioactive waste watchdog with Beyond Nuclear, described the potential nightmare to “The Big Picture” host Thom Hartmann, stating that if the pools of nuclear fuel at the plant caught on fire, the area would become so radioactive that the entire containment operation would have to be permanently abandoned. Nuclear expert Robert Alvarez, the former Senior Policy Adviser to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, spelled out the potential disaster in more specific — and chilling — terms in an email sent to renowned Japanese diplomat A-kio Mat-su-mu-ra.

He said, “If an earthquake or other event were to cause the pool to drain, this could result in a catastrophic radiological fire involving nearly 10 times the amount of [radioactive] Cs-137 released by the Chernobyl incident.”

Britain is on “high flood” alert after undergoing wettest April every recorded. According to the AFP, parts of Britain were on “high alert” for floods after a night of torrential downpours as government figures showed April was the wettest on record. The Environment Agency had 33 flood warnings and 139 flood alerts — where flooding is expected or possible respectively — in place after overnight storms. Officials are keeping a close eye on water levels as flood defences hold back muddy water from over 25,000 homes. Many rivers were already at bursting point and more heavy rain is forecast for this week. The Met Office said early figures showed that April was the wettest since records began in 1910, even before Monday night’s downpours.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:7-8: “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “God’s Promises Regarding the Second Coming (Part 3)” from John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Today we will look at three more passages which show that God has promised Jesus Christ will return.

The first verse we want to look at is Isaiah 11:10 which says, “And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.” When Jesus came the first time, did the nations seek after him? Was there any rest at all, let alone a glorious one? No, that has not happened.

The second verse is Isaiah 33:20 which says: “Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation…” Has Jerusalem been a quiet habitation? I’m afraid not. Jerusalem has never had peace. What is it that the Jews are always praying for? The peace of Jerusalem. Jesus has to come back.

The third passage is Isaiah 35:1-2 which says: “The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.” Has Israel seen the glory of the Lord and the excellency of God? No. They haven’t even recognized their Messiah. Have the deserts of Israel blossomed and then transformed? No. In fact, Romans 8:18-22 says that “the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together” waiting for the great day when the earth is going to be redone.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

God wants us to warn those around us that they need to be prepared to face God. All of those who reject Christ will have their names removed from the Book of Life in Heaven. Tim Lahaye writes the following on this subject:

The Book of Life is alluded to several times in the Old Testament. The psalmist speaks of the Book of the Living in Psalm 69.28, so we perceive it is a book containing the names of all souls. It is also referred to as God the Father’s book in Exodus 32:32-33 and it records all those whom God the Creator has made. It is, then, the book of the living, much like modern census books, only much more important as Psalm 139:16 implies more than just our names are written in this book.

There are several ways an individual might have his or her name blotted out of the Book of Life. Exodus 32:33 says, “Whosoever hath sinned against Me, him will I blot out of My book.” It is possible, therefore, to have one’s name erased from the Book of Life because of sin.

Revelation 3.5 promises, “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life.” An overcomer is one who is clothed in the white garments of Christ through His substitutionary atonement, guaranteeing his/her name will not be blotted out of the Book of Life.

There is another way in which a person can have his or her name removed from the Book of Life: Revelation 22.19 explains, “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life.” This severe warning is to false teachers who would seek to destroy the prophetic truth of the Word of God. Such will have their names removed from the Book of Life upon their deaths.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
