Breaking Prophecy News; A Closer Look at God’s Program for Israel, Part 3 (#113)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Crisis in Europe may lead to violent uprisings. According to the Gatestone Institute, Europe’s politicians will not admit it openly but they are afraid that the dire economic situation in countries such as Greece and Spain might lead to revolution. In two weeks’ time, the Greeks will go to the voting booths again. The far-left Syriza party is leading in the polls. During the past months, violence has hit the streets of Athens and Thessaloniki. Desperate people are committing suicide in public, reminding Europe’s leaders that the so-called Arab Spring, which toppled many Arab regimes, was triggered in December 2010 by the self-immolation of a street vendor in Tunisia. Meanwhile, with youth unemployment higher than 50%, Spain’s younger generation has no prospects whatever. They have nothing to lose and, hence, can be easily persuaded to rebel against a political system that seems incapable of offering them hope for a better future. This is a politically dangerous situation, which the United States should be taking into account. The whole of Southern Europe might soon be in turmoil.

A New Mexico court says Christians can be ordered to violate their beliefs. According to World Net Daily, a ruling from Judge Tim L. Garcia in the New Mexico Court of Appeals says states can require Christians to violate their faith in order to do business, affirming a penalty of nearly $7,000 for a photographer who refused to take pictures at a lesbian “commitment” ceremony in the state where same-sex “marriage” was illegal. Judges Cynthia Fry and James Wechsler joined in the ruling by Garcia, which involved Elaine Photography, whose owners, Elaine and Jonathan Hue-geu-nin, are Christians and declined to do photography for lesbians, Vanessa Willock and another woman. Officials with the Alliance Defense Fund, which has been representing Elaine Photography, said there would be an appeal. ADF Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence said, “Americans in the marketplace should not be subjected to legal attacks for simply abiding by their beliefs. The government should not force this photographer to promote a message that violates her conscience.”

Israel discovers yet another giant off-shore oil and gas field. According to Israel National News, an Israeli energy company announced it has discovered an off-shore energy field that may even surpass previous finds in terms of the possibilities of developing commercial grade oil. Israel Opportunity Energy Resources LP announced that its Pelagic licenses indicate 6.7 trillion cubic feet of gas and 1.4 billion barrels of oil. By comparison, the previously announced Tamar and Leviathan off-shore fields contain an estimated 9 and 17 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The amount of commercial oil, if any, has not been finalized. Israel Opportunity chairman Ronny Halman said, ”This quantity guarantees Israel’s energy future for decades, and makes it possible to export Israeli gas, and boost the state’s revenues without worrying about gas reserves for domestic consumption.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “A Closer Look at God’s Program for Israel (part 3)” from John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” MacArthur writes the following on this subject:

Today, we will wrap up our discussion of God’s plan for Israel in the end times by looking at three passages of Scripture.

Isaiah 61:1-2 says: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…”

In Luke 4:16-21, Jesus read this passage from Isaiah and said that it was fulfilled in Him. In other words, it was fulfilled the first time He came. Jesus didn’t finish quoting the prophecy, however. It continues, “…and the day of vengeance of our God…” Now, if Jesus fulfilled the first part of this prophecy when He was here on earth, He must return to earth to fulfill the remainder of it. The Kingdom must come to earth.

Zechariah 14:9a says: “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth…” We see here that there must be an earthly Kingdom.

Jeremiah 23:5-6 says: “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely…”

In Acts 1:11, as Jesus was ascending into heaven in full view of the disciples, two angels said, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Just as He went from earth to heaven, He’ll come from heaven to earth…literally! So, the program of God for the church, for the nations, and for Israel demands a literal return.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
God wants us to be aware that we are in a spiritual battle. In light of that, please listen to what Dr. David Jeremiah writes in his book titled “I Never Thought I’d See the Day”. The title of this section is “When Christians Wouldn’t Know They Were in a War (Part 22) — Satan is Already Defeated”.

The late Swiss theologian Oscar Cullman has noted that every military campaign in history turned on the outcome of a single decisive battle. Waterloo decided Napoleon’s fate; and the Battle of Gettysburg turned the American Civil War in the North’s favor. The D-Day invasion of Allied forces into France sealed the doom of the Axis powers and ensured the outcome of World War II.

In the same way, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the turning point in the war between Satan and God.

It is said of Napoleon Bonaparte that as he attempted to conquer all the kingdoms of the known world, he spread out a map on a table, pointed to a specific place and said to his lieutenants, “Sirs, if it were not for that red spot, I could conquer the world.” The spot to which he pointed was the British Isles — the very nation that met Napoleon at Waterloo in Belgium and defeated him in league with a group of allied nations.

I have no doubt that when Satan talks with his minions about conquering the world, he says the same thing about the red hilltop of Calvary where Christ’s blood was spilled: “If it were not for that red spot, I could rule the world!” But that red spot is what makes all the difference in our spiritual battle. We do not have to live in fear of the devil. We need enter only the spiritual battle to which we have been called, aware of its reality and its subtlety, and armed with the truth that will lead us to victory.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
