Breaking Prophecy News; Jesus Christ Must Return to Ultimately Defeat Satan, Part 3 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #118)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The UN says Syria is in a full-scale civil war. According to the AFP, UN peacekeeping chief Herve Lad-sous said Syria is now in a full-scale civil war. UN observers reported they were fired on as they tried to enter a town feared to be the focus of a new massacre. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Washington would find it hard to support the extension of the observer mission beyond next month if the government of President Bahar al-Assad’s regime continued to show “contempt” for a UN-backed ceasefire that was supposed to go into effect from April 12. The US has voiced concerns that the regime is planning to carry out new atrocities, after the massacre of 55 people last week in Al-Kubeir and at least 108 people near Houla.

European Union prepares to limit the movement of money and people in case of unrest. According to the Associated Press, the European Commission has been providing legal advice to others who are considering possible scenarios should Greece leave the euro. Olivier Bailly said that, legally, limits could be imposed on movement of people and money across national borders within the EU if it’s necessary to protect public order or public security — but not on economic grounds. He said, “Some people are working on scenarios”, but refused to confirm or identify which organizations and people were working on them.

Russia warns Syria that a larger war is coming. According to World Net Daily, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is preparing a major offensive in the coming days against the opposition targeting his regime. A government source told WND that Assad was warned by Russia that if the coming counterinsurgency targeting the opposition is not successful in the next 4-6 weeks, Syria should be prepared for a war. The source did not say whether the possibility of war referred to a Russian expectation of international intervention in Syria. The information comes after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Russia of sending helicopter gunships to Syria for use in crackdowns on rebel positions across Syria.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Jesus Christ Must Return to Ultimately Defeat Satan (Part 3)” from John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” MacArthur writes the following on this subject:

Satan has been disarmed: Satan only has one weapon…death. But Christ took that away from Satan when He rose from the grave and conquered death. Hebrews 2:14b says, “…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” When Jesus died on the cross He ripped death out of Satan’s hand. Earlier Christ had said, “because I live, ye shall live also”; therefore, Christ took the only weapon Satan had. Christ must return to deal with the devil.

Satan will be detained: Revelation 20:1-3 shows what happens to Satan during Christ’s reign on earth: “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”

Satan will be defeated: In Revelation 20:10 John reveals Satan’s demise: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Satan is judged by Christ at the Great White Throne, and banished to hell forever. Only Jesus Christ can defeat Satan ultimately — so He must return to earth.

In I John 3:8b, John says this: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus must return to take the earth back from the usurper. It’s a priority on God’s calendar.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
God wants us to have the right spiritual attitude toward the world as it crumbles around us in these last days. In light of that, please listen to what Dr. David Jeremiah writes in his book titled “I Never Thought I’d See the Day” about the mentality that Christians should have:

There are still plenty of secular humanists who believe man is either capable of solving his own problems or capable of surviving whatever collapse our problems produce. I am not one of them. In that respect, I am a pessimist. I am pessimistic about man’s ability, independent from his Creator-God, to solve the problems he creates—especially problems of enormous scale such as those our nation and the world face today.

I am, however, an optimist about God. And it is toward Him that we must turn our attention in this final chapter. But first I must sharpen the definition of optimism on the whetstone of biblical realism.

By optimism in God, I do not mean that I expect God to swoop down and erase our massive debts; put an end to threats of terrorism; cause a spiritual revival to sweep the nation that impacts schools, government, and commerce; and return America to the good old days. I don’t think that’s biblically realistic, and it’s not a lack of faith that causes me to say so.

Rather, as I read my Bible I find compelling reasons to believe that the human race is on a collision course with calamity—that things are going to get worse before they get better, which will not happen until the return of Jesus Christ to earth. I believe the Bible teaches that in the last days of this age, only the return of Christ will keep humanity from destroying itself.

So what is there to be optimistic about? I am optimistic about God’s ability to keep you and me from being conformed to the chaos around us. I am optimistic about God’s ability to transform us—to raise us higher as the world sinks lower.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
