Breaking Prophecy News; The Covenants with Israel, Part 2 (#142)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. Netanyahu blames Iran for explosion in Bulgaria which killed six Israelis. According to The New York Times, A bus carrying Israeli tourists exploded in a fireball on Wednesday outside an airport in the Bulgarian city of Burgas, killing at least six people and wounding dozens more in what Bulgaria, Israel and the United States called a terrorist attack. Israel quickly blamed Iran. Mr. Netanyahu and other Israeli officials pointed out that the bus explosion came on the 18th anniversary of a bombing of an Argentine Jewish center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people and wounded hundreds. Netanyahu stated, “This is an Iranian terror attack that is spreading across the world. Israel will react forcefully to Iran’s terror.”

2. The Pentagon says 20 nations will engage in military exercises in the Middle East. According to The Associated Press, in a move to bolster military strength against Iran, 20 nations will stage an anti-mining exercise in Mideast waterways. Iran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, the route for one-fifth of the world’s oil, in retaliation for international sanctions over Tehran’s nuclear program. The U.S. Central Command said the upcoming exercise will focus on “a hypothetical threat from an extremist organization to mine the international strategic waterways of the Middle East, including the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Oman, and the Persian Gulf, although exercise activities will not extend into the Strait of Hormuz.”

3. Experts say biometrics will soon be a part of our everyday lives. According to Security Info Watch, Bojan Cukic, a professor of computer science and electrical engineering at West Virginia University, says that biometric technology will become more commonplace in the future. He said, “I honestly feel in five or 10 years, we will not be talking about biometrics because it will be ubiquitous. It will be part of systems and applications which we use every day. Computers will monitor our activities and when they become unusual, they will warn us or warn the administrator about it.” Whether it is using facial recognition to tag photos or placing a finger on a reader to gain access to a laptop computer, biometric technology for security and recreational uses appears to be here to stay.

The Bible says in Daniel 12:4: “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “The Covenants with Israel (Part 2)” from Dr. John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Today, we are continuing our look at the Abrahamic Covenant.

Genesis 13:14-17 says, “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.” Here God promises to give a specific portion of land to Abram and his descendants.

In Genesis 15:18-21, God gives a description of the dimensions of the land: “In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” These are all the people inhabiting the land.

We will continue looking at the Abrahamic Covenant on our next broadcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.”

God wants us to be faithful witnesses for Him in the last days. We should be engaged in spreading the Gospel to those around us. In light of that, please listen to the following from William Fay, author of “Share Jesus Without Fear”:

More Bible Passages to Use When Sharing Jesus

Romans 10:9-11: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

2 Corinthians 5:15: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
