Breaking Prophecy News; The Covenants with Israel, Part 3 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #143)

Complete Broadcast Text

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. President Peres says Israel will strike terror cells around the world. According to The Jerusalem Post, in unusually tough remarks, President Shimon Peres responded to the Burgas terror attack saying that Israel will hit terror nests around world. He stated, “We were witnesses to a deadly terror attack coming out of Iran…we know there were other attempts, and this time they succeeded. Israel has the means and the will to silence and paralyze terror organizations.”

2. Over 200 Christians have reportedly been murdered in Syria. According to International Christian Concern, thousands of Christians lived in Homs before Syria’s uprising began early last year. Today, however, Greek Orthodox priest Maximos Al-Jamal said that only 100 Christian civilians remain, the result of which is more likely contributed to rebel attacks against Christians than the army’s bombardment of the city. Another Christian priest said, “The armed rebels in Syria have murdered more than 200 Christians in the city of Homs, including entire families with young children.” Gangs also kidnapped Christians and demanded high ransoms. In two cases, after the ransoms were paid, the men’s bodies were found. Christians have been fleeing the city whenever possible.

3. Iran’s president says sanctions are the beginning of a ‘battle’. According to The Associated Press, Iran’s president says the West has begun a “heavy battle” with Iran by tightening sanctions over Tehran’s nuclear program. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, however, insists that Iran “will not retreat one iota” from its right to a peaceful nuclear program. A total oil embargo imposed by the European Union and banking sanctions by the United States recently went into effect against Iran for its refusal to halt its uranium enrichment activities.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:6-7: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “The Covenants with Israel (Part 3)” from Dr. John MacArthur’s book “The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Today, we are continuing our look at the Abrahamic Covenant.

Genesis 17:1-8 says, “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

“And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

God promised an everlasting possession to Israel. He promised that they would possess the land for as long as it existed in the mind of God…for eternity. Therefore, I believe this covenant binds God to its fulfillment — He must give the land to Israel! Now, they presently don’t have the land from the Nile to the Euphrates, do they? Of course not. They will possess it, but not until the Kingdom. And since the Kingdom follows the Tribulation, if they are going to be around to get the land in the Kingdom, they’ve got to be around in the Tribulation. So, the Abrahamic Covenant indicates that Israel must be in the Tribulation.

We will continue looking at the Abrahamic Covenant on our next broadcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.”

God wants us to be faithful witnesses for Him in the last days. We should be engaged in spreading the Gospel to those around us. In light of that, please listen to the following from William Fay, author of “Share Jesus Without Fear”:

The Stories of Our Lives

Even if you can share Jesus without fear, you still need to be prepared. Society teaches that if something sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. This belief alone will prevent many people from accepting the Gospel message the first time they hear it. Research shows that, on average, adults must hear the Gospel message about seven times before they come to faith in Christ. So, don’t give up on your friend, but prayerfully continue to look for opportunities to share your faith.

Sharing your personal testimony is often an effective response to objections. Seekers usually aren’t looking for logical answers to appease their doubts. What they really want to know is if Christianity really works. Your personal testimony is the best way to illustrate that a relationship with God is a life-changing experience. You can be prepared to share by writing down your personal testimony. This will help you to organize your thoughts so that you can present them clearly and concisely at any time.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Now, if you are listening to this broadcast and you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour, God wants you to accept Jesus Christ before He returns. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Friend of mine, if you are willing to trust Christ as your Savior today, please pray with me the following prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Amen.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
